Jose I. Arauz, DMD, PA

Dr. Arauz received his first dental degree (Doctor in Dental Surgery, D.D.S.) from the University of Panama in Panama City, Panama in 1997 and then his second dental degree (Doctor in Dental Medicine, D.M.D.) from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 2004.
He completed his specialty degree in Periodontology at the University of Rochester’s world-renowned Eastman Dental Center in New York in 2002, and completed a two-year residency in advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) and general practice residency (GPR) as well.
While at Case Western Reserve University, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics and he taught to residents and dental students for five years. He was also Clinic Director of the residency in Periodontics, and directed courses in Implantology, Sedation, and Surgical Periodontics. Additionally, Dr. Arauz was a staff periodontist and consultant in periodontology and dental implants at the Department of Dentistry of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, and practiced periodontics and dental implantology in private offices located in Westlake, Lyndhurst and Mentor, Ohio.
Dr. Arauz has been in practice in this area since December 2007. And, moving to the beautiful Eastern Carolina area has been a “dream come true” for him and his family.
Dr. Arauz is a Board Certified periodontist, trained in Dental Implant Robotics, Diplomate of The American Board of Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration and the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Arauz is the President of the North Carolina Society of Periodontists and a member of the Executive Council of the Southern Academy of Periodontology. He is also Adjunct Faculty of the Periodontology Graduate Program, a department of periodontology at the Adams School of Dentistry, located at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC.
The dental practice of Dr. Jose Arauz is limited to Periodontics, Robotic Dental Implants, and Oral Medicine. He is fluent and proficient in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Leah grew up in Swansboro, then moved to Florida a few years after high school. She graduated from Florida State College at Jacksonville in 2020 with her dental hygiene degree. She moved back home in November 2022 to be with family again, and was very excited to join Dr. Arauz’s team in March 2023. She loves to spend time with her dog Carolina (named after this great state of course), being out on the boat, and rooting for the Carolina Hurricanes!
Laura
Front Office Lead
Laura was born and raised on Long Island, New York. She obtained her Associates Degree in business from Briarcliffe College in New York. After graduation she worked in mortgage banking for ten years. She moved to North Carolina in 2009 with family. Laura began to work with Dr. Arauz in December of 2016. Laura enjoys spending time with her family.
Alyssa

Alyssa was raised in the Lone Star State and recently moved here with her red-headed husband, and their 3-year-old cats: Matilda, Kuzco, and Lucy. She really enjoys spending time with her family and being a scratch cook at home. While being a big foodie, she also loves to travel, bake, and anything Disney!

Skylar was born and raised on the outskirts of North Carolina. She moved to Jacksonville in 2020 after graduating from NC Dental U as a DAI. Skylar got married in 2021 and has three crazy dogs! She loves cooking, spending time with friends and family, and being outside!

Lead Dental Assistant
Janet started working with Dr. Arauz April of 2018. She was born and raised in North Carolina and has been blessed with three beautiful daughters and one handsome son. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys working on her talk radio show 2 to 3 with Janet Leigh.
Anastasia
Administration Coordinator
Anastasia has been working with Dr. Arauz and his team since 2015. Anastasia is responsible for various administrative duties within the office. She grew up in Clearwater, Florida, and moved to Jacksonville in 2012. Anastasia is a family therapist/coach and has been working with children and families for over 25 years. She is married to Dr. Arauz and enjoys spending time with their family.
Lulu
Dental Assistant
Lulu was born in México and was raised in Fayetteville, NC. She joined the army in 2017 right out of high school to be a dental assistant and served 6 years. Lulu has a 3-year-old that she absolutely loves spending time with. She loves traveling, her favorite state she has been to is Alaska!
