Dr. Arauz received his first dental degree (Doctor in Dental Surgery, D.D.S.) from the University of Panama in Panama City, Panama in 1997 and then his second dental degree (Doctor in Dental Medicine, D.M.D.) from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 2004.

He completed his specialty degree in Periodontology at the University of Rochester’s world-renowned Eastman Dental Center in New York in 2002, and completed a two-year residency in advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) and general practice residency (GPR) as well.

While at Case Western Reserve University, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics and he taught to residents and dental students for five years. He was also Clinic Director of the residency in Periodontics, and directed courses in Implantology, Sedation, and Surgical Periodontics. Additionally, Dr. Arauz was a staff periodontist and consultant in periodontology and dental implants at the Department of Dentistry of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, and practiced periodontics and dental implantology in private offices located in Westlake, Lyndhurst and Mentor, Ohio.

Dr. Arauz has been in practice in this area since December 2007. And, moving to the beautiful Eastern Carolina area has been a “dream come true” for him and his family.

Dr. Arauz is a Board Certified periodontist, trained in Dental Implant Robotics, Diplomate of The American Board of Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration and the American Board of Periodontology.

Dr. Arauz is the President of the North Carolina Society of Periodontists and a member of the Executive Council of the Southern Academy of Periodontology. He is also Adjunct Faculty of the Periodontology Graduate Program, a department of periodontology at the Adams School of Dentistry, located at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC.

The dental practice of Dr. Jose Arauz is limited to Periodontics, Robotic Dental Implants, and Oral Medicine. He is fluent and proficient in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Meet Tabby! Originally from Southeast Massachusetts, Tabby made the big move to North Carolina in April of 2023. After graduating from dental assisting school in 2014, she has been a proud supporter of her family as a military spouse, got married in 2015, and has since been blessed with two amazing boys. When she is not with her family, you’ll find her at various sports events or cheering on NASCAR!

Anastasia has been working with Dr. Arauz and his team since 2015. Anastasia is responsible for various administrative duties within the office. She grew up in Clearwater, Florida, and moved to Jacksonville in 2012. Anastasia is a family therapist/coach and has been working with children and families for over 25 years. She is married to Dr. Arauz and enjoys spending time with their family.

Lulu was born in México and was raised in Fayetteville, NC. She joined the army in 2017 right out of high school to be a dental assistant and served 6 years. Lulu has a 3-year-old that she absolutely loves spending time with. She loves traveling, her favorite state she has been to is Alaska!

Juan joined our team with a year of hands-on experience as a dental assistant and a strong passion for patient care. He brings a calm, welcoming presence to every appointment and is dedicated to helping patients feel comfortable throughout their periodontal treatment. Juan is skilled in chairside assisting, sterilization protocols, and ensuring smooth clinical workflow. He enjoys learning more about periodontal care and is committed to growing his knowledge to better support both patients and the team. When he’s not in the office, Juan enjoys spending time with family, exploring new foods, and staying active outdoors.

With over a decade of experience in the medical field and a dedicated focus on dentistry since 2018, I bring a strong background in healthcare management and patient care to my role as Office Manager. My career began in the medical sector, where I developed a deep understanding of patient needs, team coordination, and front office operations.

Since transitioning to dental, I’ve continued to grow my passion for creating a welcoming and efficient environment for both patients and staff. I take pride in ensuring every patient has a positive experience from the moment they walk through our doors.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending quality time with my daughters and relaxing at the beach. I believe a balanced life brings out the best in everything I do—especially in caring for our patients and supporting our team.

California-born and raised, now calling North Carolina home since April 2025. Proud dog mom to two crazy (and endlessly lovable) beagles. I’m a passionate holistic health coach with a love for helping others live their healthiest, happiest lives. Currently thriving as a treatment coordinator, learning all things dentistry while making sure every patient gets the best care possible. I’m bilingual, a wanderlust at heart, and happiest when exploring new places — whether across the globe or out in nature. I believe life is all about the little things, and I never stop pausing to admire the beauty around me.

Katlin is a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist at Carolina Dental Specialty Center. She has over ten years of experience in the medical field with expertise in cosmetic, pediatric and periodontal dental care. Kate began her journey as an asst and proceeded to further her education in dental hygiene. She graduated with high honors and received an award for exceptional professionalism. She is passionate and caring with a whole person approach considering all aspects of a patients well being to include physical, mental, emotional and social status. Kate is one of five siblings and has a fraternal twin brother, as well as being a mom of three. she enjoys the outdoors and avoids snow! Kate is dedicated to providing a positive educational experience for every patient.
